As Maha reconciles Covid data, India reports 3,998 new daily deaths, highest in over a month

India reported 42,015 new Covid-19 cases, 3,998 deaths in last 24 hours, said the data released by Union health ministry. The number of deaths is highest since June 12. The ministry said that Maharashtra has carried out its 14th reconciliation exercise of Covid data in the state. As a result, the state's positive case tally has increased by 2,479 while the death tally has increased by 3,509.
