American billionaire business magnate Bill Gates visited a camp near Ulsoor Lake in Bengaluru, India, set up by the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) to create awareness about doorstep banking services. During his visit, Gates interacted with Kusuma and Manjushree, employees of the postal department. Kusuma explained digital transactions to Gates using smartphones and biometrics. Gates later described Kusuma as a "remarkable woman working wonders" and praised her for providing financial empowerment to her community. Gates was also impressed by the range of public services offered by the payments bank.
