Start women’s quota next year based on 2011 census: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has demanded the implementation of women's reservation in legislatures from the 2024 Lok Sabha polls based on the 2011 census. He criticized the BJP's plan to implement it after 10 years and called for immediate action. Gandhi also advocated for a caste census and questioned the lack of representation of OBCs in the government. He accused the government of using the women's reservation bill as a distraction from the OBC quota. Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi also expressed support for the bill and called for its immediate implementation with provisions for SCs, STs, and OBCs.
