'Cash-for-query' row: CBI registers preliminary enquiry against TMC MP Mahua Moitra

The CBI registered preliminary enquiry against TMC MP Mahua Moitra on directions of Lokpal in connection with 'cash-for-query' row. The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee recommended her expulsion after a hearing marked by walkout by opposition members. Last month, businessman Hiranandani admitted to using Moitra's parliamentary login to ask questions targeting Adani. Mamata Banerjee said the expulsion of Moitra is being planned, but it would help her before the elections.
