Jawan dies in Chhattisgarh Maoist ambush

A Chhattisgarh Armed Force jawan was killed and another injured when Maoists triggered an IED blast and fired on them in Bastar’s Narayanpur on Wednesday. The Maoists seem to have stepped up the violent attacks this month, killing a deputy sarpanch and a security personnel and injuring at least eight, six of them in the last four days. Police sources said that a team from CAF’s 9th battalion was on a search operation near Aamdai Valley iron ore mines, where road work is underway.
