Jordan- FM, Egyptian, Iraqi counterparts participate in preparatory meeting for 4th leaders' meeting

(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Baghdad, Mar. 29 (Petra) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, Egypt Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry and Iraq Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, on Monday participated in the preparatory meeting for the fourth leaders meeting within the framework of the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Jordan, Egypt and Iraq, to be held during the coming period in Baghdad.The ministers said that they will continue to work on enhancing cooperation within the trilateral cooperation mechanism through the implementation of joint projects aimed at deepening coordination, cooperation and strategic integration between the three brotherly countries and strengthening brotherhood ties between them, in implementation of the leaders' directives and the outputs of previous summits, the most recent of which was the Amman summit held in August.The ministers discussed the levels of work and achievements reached by the sectoral ministerial teams in the three countries, in order to complement the ongoing preparations for the leaders summit to be hosted in Baghdad, stressing the need to follow up on the proposed and targeted projects and their implementation mechanisms within specific time frames in order to maximize the benefit, develop economic potential and achieve strategic integration between the three countries.The meeting's agenda covered a number of regional and international issues of common interest, foremost of which are the Palestinian issue, combating terrorism, promoting joint Arab action, and coordinating political positions to solve the region's crises.
