FDA.gov/CDCgov/Twitter????The recall of Kellogg’s Honey Smacks cereal has been expanded by the Food and Drug Administration after a salmonella outbreak caused illness in 73 people across 31 states according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.????Kellogg Co.

Announced a recall of 15.3-ounce and 23-ounce packages of the cereal with a "best if used by" date from June 14, 2018, through June 14, 2019, according to a statement.????The CDC also warned people to throw the affected cereal away or return it to the place of purchase.????Yet, in its own statement, the US Food and Drug Administration asked consumers to avoid the cereal completely.????“The FDA is advising consumers to not eat and to discard any Kellogg’s Honey Smacks cereal.

This is regardless of size or 'best if used by' dates.”????According to the CDC, 24 people have been hospitalized, and there have been no fatalities.
