Now it's at 95.

The county is also reporting 8 total deaths in the area.

Wtva's chelsea brown caught up with a family member of someone who tested positive for the coronavirus and joins us live with how they are doing.

Long term care cases of the coronavirus in monroe county sit at 31.

At riverplace nursing home in amory there has been confirmed cases of covid 19.

I spoke with one patient's son, randy monaghan, about how he his dealing with his mother's diagnosis.

"scary window visits... that's about all we get at this moment."

Randy monaghan's mom is 65 years old.

She has only been at riverplace for about a month monaghan says he has called and checked on his mom many times while she has been there.

"she wouldn't quite tell us a lot because she didn't want to scare us anymore than we already are for her."

He thanks the staff at riverplace for everything they have done so far to care for her..

Monaghan says the staff at riverplace keeps him updated on his mom's condition.

"she may be on the rebound of this" monaghan says his mother has had most of the symptoms of covid 19 but she is starting to do better now.

He is ready for everything to pass were he can visit his mom again.

"we may be months out, we may be a year out.

We just don't know and that's the hard part.

Because you cannot reassure her we are on the way."

Riverplace tells me they are doing everything they can to stop the spread of the coronavirus and are following all cdc guidelines and preventative measures.
