With marshall county being a coronavirus hotspot in north alabama, doctors are examining just how much "processing plants" are to blame.

Since the virus hit, we've received dozens of emails about safety concerns and a lack of social distancing at several chicken plants in marshall county.

We took those concerns to local mayors who told us there are steps being taken to protect employees.

Guntersville mayor leigh dollar says the plants in her city have told her they're cleaning and implementing social distancing.

There's all kinds of sanitizing and cleaning going on all parts of the day.

Earlier this month at wayne farms in albertville, 75 employees tested positive for coronavirus and 1 died from it.
