Local lunch workers honored

The Lee County School District saluted its nutrition professionals amid the pandemic.

(may 1) and in the midst of the largest public health crisis in recent history,,, lee county school district is saluting the dedicated school nutrition professionals across the county... the district is currently serving over two thousand meals a day to students,,,, the lee county school district says it's employees are proud members of the school nutrition community,,, and each and every one helps to advance the district's unique ability to quickly and safely ensure students and families have access to nutritious meals... mean to us ."

It's so important everyday just to let our staff know how much they mean to us and how critical their job is at fighting hunger and feeding the children in our communities that really need them we have a lot of people that bring gifts to our staff just to let them know how much they mean to us.

Since the pandemic began,, the district says it has safely provided over 50 thousand meals to students... one of the distribution sites the district has set up is at shannon high school.... this morning cafeteria workers and school officials continued handing out meals as part of the "grab and go" feeding program ... anyone 18 years old and younger can receive meals each monday and wednesday from 10 until noon ... the district will continue serving meals through may 20th ... toyota
