Nancy Bascom's family brought the Mother's Day celebration to her this year.

The case for everyone.

Many families in our area got creative while sticking with the social distancing guidelines in place.

As kezi 9 news reporter julian mininsohn shows us --- celebrating mother's day social-distance style requires a lot of imagination --- mixed with love.

(nancy bascom) "i'll show you the outside, the backyard and the beautiful flowers."

I nancy bascom couldn't leave her house this mother's day.

(nancy bacom) "it just wouldn't be right if i was with my kids and grand kids.."

So her family decided to give her the best mother's day bouquet --- ever.

(nancy) "they had said -- have you bought all your flowers yet?

I said no we just bought some.

They know i love flowers."

Bascom's family planted a garden of her favorites right in her backyard.

(nancy bacom) "i wanted some california poppies so they grew those for me and brought them and planted them.

And i wanted sunflowers so they brought seeds."

(julian) "this just proves that the meaning behind mother's day is as important as ever.

Even if you can't sit down at a restaraunt and have brunch with your mom.

Hey mom happy mother's day!

(lisa) "hey, love you!"

And for bascom -- just like many of us - we can't wait for netx year when air- hugs for mom turn into the real thing.

(nancy) "i love them dearly.

Every one of them.

Especially when they left i was saying thank you and i just wanted to hug them all."
