Monroe deputies searching for Butts County escaped inmate

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is helping Butts County deputies search for a missing inmate.

Highway 42.

Deputies say this is an active investigation, and there's no other information at this time.

They are looking for 32-year-old anthony shepherd.

According to the monroe county sheriff's office, shepherd was working an animal control detail when he walked off sunday morning.

He was last seen on rivoli road where he crashed a vehicle.
