Graduation date set for Nettleton School District

Administrators at Nettleton School District set the date for graduation.

The nettleton school district finalized plans for graduation.

The school serves students from lee and monroe counties.

Wtva's chelsea brown is live in nettleton with the extra rules and regulations parents will have to follow as they watch their kids graduate.

Here at nettleton high school's football field seniors will finally get to walk across the field and receive their diplomas with their classmates.

I spoke with one senior about graduating in the midst of a pandemic.

"probably walking the halls the first day of senior year with all of my friends."

That is one of nakira gillard's favorite memories from high school.

Others inculde her first and last basketball games.

Not only was she a basketball player but also ran track.

"it was the last thing i looked forward to my senior year."

When school ended early, her track season was canceled because of the coronavirus.

She didn't think there would be a graduation either.

"it was sad because we made a lot of memories through high school and i wanted to have my big day with them."

Nettleton school district administrator announced the date for graduation.

June 26th at 7pm students will walk across the field.

Students will only be allowed to bring 4 guests .

"it's kinda hard, i come from a strong support system.

They all want to be there.

They all want to see me get my diploma" ushers will seat families and to help them maintain 6 ft social distancing.

Once graduation is over the, administrators arek asking parents and graduates to celebrate off campus.

"it most definitely will be different... it's just the situation that we have been faced with."

Each senior will get a free video of the graduation.

Nettleton seniors won't have to miss out on prom either.

Prom is scheduled for the day after graduation, june 27th.
