City of Brazil to gets grant, how it will help families impacted by COVID-19

Residents of Brazil will have something to look forward to this weekend.

The city was awarded a $75,000 dollar grant, that will go to families impacted by COVID-19.

At half-capacity.

It's towards food and hygiene products.

News 10's jordan kudisch spoke with the mayor of brazil.

Shes live in our newsroom to explain just how impactful... this grant will be.

Covid-19 has impacted families..

Local businesses..

And their livelihood.

This grant will bring relief to those who need it most.

The large amount of money..

Is something that will really be beneficial to the county.

Canned goods..

And hygiene products will go to "low" incom families.

Each "box" will contain roughly "90" to "95" items pe family.

And the food will be provided by local sources..

Giving business to the small businesses struggling..

Like the local farmers.

It will happen saturday..

From "9 a.m."

To "11 a.m."may "wyndham" says more importantly..

Grant willl help support families long term... not just a single meal.

"like i said it's going to have a lot of impact.

It's not going to just feed someone for the day, that's not the design of this.

It's to feed them for an extended period of time and have groceries so i'm kinda excited about that.

It's a large distribution."
