Tomorrow we officially hit stage 3 of reopening and everyone’s slowly getting back to business, even though some more slowly than others.

Slowly getting back to business.

Some more slowly than others.

Action news now reporter karen alvarez is live in redding.

Karen when can we expect to see city call open it's doors?

Hayley--- assistant city manager----sheri demaagd(pronou nced duh- maagged)----tells me they're working right now to set a date.

Redding city hall has been closed for more than two months---- steven qualls lives in redding.

He says it's time for city hall to open up---- sot(steven qualls, lives in redding): " i've seen so many people pass by city hall and they've been needing, just various amounts of help from city hall but with it being closed currently& but he may have to wait a little longer.

Sot(steven qualls, lives in redding): with a lot of the smaller and bigger businesses opening up now, i feel like it would just be wonderful if city hall would open up again.

Redding assistant manager sheri demaagd says right now they don'* have a set a date to reopen city hall and that decision depends on public health---- sot(voice of: sheri demaagd, assistant city manger, redding): the opening of the city facility will be dependent upon guidance such provided by shasta county public health officer as well as watching the covid19 infection rate withing our community.

Stand-up: and even though we don't know right now an exact date as to when city hall will reopen, people can expect a few changes.

Sot(voice of: sheri demaagd, assistant city manager, redding): i would anticipate that you would see additional signage put up, reminders of social distancing, good hygiene practices, as well as plexiglas barriers in areas that would be greeting the public.

Until then the city is still providing some services with appointment only---- sot(voice of: sheri demaagd, assistant city manager, redding): so one thing we want to do is people to call to make an appointment, and staff with them, escort them through the city facility to the person they were meeting.

Demaagd says administrators are working to prepare guidelines and protocols for city counci* to resume their resume in-person council meeteings.

Meanwhile---if you need to drop documents off - contact the department---and make arrangements.

Live in redding, karen alvarez, action news now, coverage you can count on.
