Purdue's Athletic Department is planning meticulously for the football season.

But Director of Athletics Mike Bobinski says planning a sports event during a pandemic is a moving target.

Season look like this fall.

Governor holcomb's back on track indiana plan will have the state open well before the season starts.

But with thousands of fans in the stands, there may be some changes in store.

News 18's marvin bills spoke with purdue's athletic department today about the plans in place this year.

Good evening meredith and to you all at home.

As of right now director of athletics at purdue mike bobinski says the department is planning to have fans in the stands as normal this year.

Purdue athletics has already sold more than 26,00 season tickets, over 1,400 new season tickets and 6,300 student season tickets.

Bobinski says the department will have hand sanitizing stations and will also... he says the department is ready to make any changes in response to covid-19 but overall they are excited to get back in gear this season.

"we've got a very healthy number of season ticket holders and students that have expressed interest in being a part of it this fall.

Lots of things will look and feel different but we hope it's with lots of people and not less people."

Now bobisi says there have only been a total of 6 people who have asked for a refund stick with us for news 18 at six.

I'll share why purdue's athletic department says even though they are planning to give fans a full experience, things will still feel different this year.
