Tropicana Evansville Casino Reopens with New Rules

In the hoosier state and it's a big day in the river city as the cards are shuffling and the dice are ready to be thrown.

Tropicana evansville - opening their doors at 10 this morning.... john rawlings is there now - offering us a preview of the changes the casino is making.... good morning john.... and a good morning to you tommy and lauren.

Safety is of the utmost importance at the tropicana..

As the experience for those who frequent the casino will be very different.

When the doors open at 10 this morning..

The floor will be laid out to ensure proper social distancing..

Hand sanitizing stations will be on the floor..

Temperatures will be taken of every patron as they enter the casino..

And team members will wear masks.

Guests on the other hand..

Will not have to wear a mask to enter the trop..

But their is a requirement to wear one when playing table games.

When it comes to playing said games..

There are more rules to ensure guests are safe... blackjack tables have a 3 player limit..

Roulette's maximum is set a 4..

And craps tables will hold a six player limit.

If you are more of a slot player..

Those machines will be at least 6 feet apart for social distancing purposes..

While chairs..

Machines..

Handles..

Rails..

Chips..

And other touch points will be sanitized regularly.

Another big change..

Cocktail servers will not roam the floor..

Instead..

Guests will have to purchase drinks at the bar and carry them to the floor themselves.

All of these changes are being made to ensure the safety of the guests at the casino and while some are ready to win big once more..

Others are unsure if its the right move to reopen the doors just yet.

I'm happy because my birthday was march 21st, and that's my favorite place on my birthday to go to.

It's short term advantage at huge risk.

The numbers are not going up but they are not going down.

I understand everything has to open at some point.

But, it's a huge huge gamble pun intended.

Even if 90 percent of the people follow social distancing guidelines, which even i think that's generous, all it takes is a few to put everybody in danger there.

I guess i don't blame them for reopening of course everybody is eager to get out, it's just at a huge huge risk right now.

The sportsbook will also be opening up..

But with limited options to bet on due to many sports suspending activity for the time being.
