After an lsc school board meeting tonight.

The lafayette school corporation published its 2020 reopening plans, but were met with backlash and anecdotes from parents, teachers and bus drivers.

I was at the meeting where the plans were tabled until next monday.

Here's the community thought's on the plan.

Jb: one by one: sot: this is frightening.

Jb: teachers, parents and a bus driver sot: if we lose a staff member or a student none of us will get over that jb: got emotional sot: please think about the lives that are at stake if we open our doors.

Jb: the lafayette school corporation posted its back to school plans last thursday and the public was passionate in its responses to the 50 page document.

Sot: i just ask that you think very hard about the decision you make and how we are going to aksd very small children to do this.

Jb: lsc is allowing 2 educational options...in person courses sot: lsc i love my job.

I do not want to stay home.

But you are asking me to make a choice that tears my sinde.

And e-learning.

Sot: i hated e-learning i miss my 2nd graders tremendously the option will be selected during registration.

Sot: we also know that the state has come out and said e learning ro in person you do 180 days jb: the plan says "social distancing will be a high priority."

It lays out how teachers, students and staff can best protect themselves at school.

This includes masks being recommended, not required.

However some places like on the bus a mask is almost necessary as social distancing isn't possible.

Sot: i truly want to go back to work, i am not sure it is worth it for them or for me.

This lsc bus driver, beth turner says she does not feel safe driving her bus especially with the 70 school children she busses around.

Sot: i cant imagine something happening to one of my children on my bus because they are mine the next and final meeting to discuss the document is next monday at 7 p.m.

At the hiatt administration center.
