We have team coverage for you as hundreds of students prepare to head back to the classroom.

But -- we begin with waay 31's ashley carter.

She's live in hartselle -- where in the next 15 minutes - students will start heading to the bus stop for the first day of school.

Ashley... bus drivers just finished getting on their buses and disinfecting them.

They're putting on their face shields and safety gear so they can head out here few minutes students will have assigned seats on the bus and will be required to wear masks and students in 2nd through 12th grades will have to wear them throughout the day.

Desks and other high touch areas will also be disinfected throughout the day the district told me about 40 children can fit on the buses but they expect a lot less students since a lot of parents will want to drop their kids off.
