Wabash County Schools Close Amid Local Outbreak

After just a few days of in-person classes, school leaders are sending students home.

Small community -- seeing a cluster of new cases --- after a "mini-prom" -- held earlier this month --- had teens trading more than dance partners.

Now -- after just a few days of in-person classes ---- school leaders -- are sending students home.

At first i was like,?why are they even going to open up when cases are already spiking?

But then, a parent who day.

Trying to do the virtual learning is going to be hard on me.

And for trying to get child care and stuff like that during this.

It kinda a little difficult.

Less than a week after the start of classes abash county schools closed down.

The fallout continues tonight restaurants and the library remain closed - following positive covid-19 tests popping up since last week.

This in the wake of the most prominent cluster of casetemming from that mini-prom at the beginning of the month.

The event - not sanctioned by the school --- becoming the focus of heated online conversations and national headlines.

And the focus for health offitill on tracking infections clear yet is if recent spikes are linked solely to that mini prom.

Still, with covid-19 continuing to cause havoc across wabash county schoolson want to take any chances.

Parents here don want to take any chances here too trying to navigate a new normal.?my youngest one, she didn do the virtual learning at the end of the year.

She was sick at the very end of the year, but it wasn with the covid.

So she didn have to do it.

So this is all new to me?

The school district says heye working to return to in person lessons as soon as possible.

But as of now they don have a timeline.
