Firefighters from multiple departments were on the scene overnight and throughout the morning battling a massive fire at the former Charlestown Mall complex on the Utica-Frankfort line.

We just received word from the city of utica..

Due to the anticipated weather and wind patterns thsi afternoon... ((all utica residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed and to stay away from the area surrounding the former charlestown mall until further notice.

The fire has been burning since 1:30 this morning.

The fire at the charles town mall complex, which sits in both herkimer and oneida counties is still burning 11 hours later.

It's causing those air quality concerns.

People have reported smelling the smoke from as far away as westmoreland and marcy.

Right now the fire is contained in the whole entire complex, there are seven buildings in the complex.
