Out of an abundance of caution, the state government complex will be closed to the public Tuesday and Wednesday in light of recent national events, threats to other state capitols, and COVID-19 restrictions.

The general assembly will also cancel all legislative activities.

Government complex will close for security reasons for at least two days next week.

The governor's office says there have been no "credible threats" against the statehouse.

But after coonsulting with security officials and legislative leaders, it was decided to close that building and other state offices on tuesday and wednesday of next week.

There have been threats to other state capitols.

Senate and house leaders have also cancelled legislative activities for the entire week, and staff will work remotely.
