Schools.... a bill that would name "hoosier spirit two" as the official state aircraft - passing the senate committee on homeland security and transportation on tuesday.... house bill 11-97 is co-sponsored by state senator jim of wadesville - and would grant the official title to the renamed p-47 thunderbolt - formerly known as tarheel hal.... the aircraft resides at the evansville wartime museum.... the bill now moves to the senate for further consideration.... the evansville p-47 foundation is fundraising to repaint the aircraft - to better reflect its origins - as well as maintenance expenses - that would keep the artifact in vanderburgh county.... a link to donate can be found on our website at w-e-v-v dot com....
