Oakland A's team president, Dave Kaval, tells 13 Action News the team is currently considering about two dozen different locations where they could build a new ballpark in the Las Vegas valley.

And so I thinkthat’s kind of intriguing, youknow, getting in and out onSahara is kind of intriguing aswell for locals and so I thinkthat provides some interestingaspects that obviously we wantto learn more about, andpotentially plan out in ameaningful way."THIS PIECE OF LAND JUST NORTH OFMCCARRAN AIRPORT IS OWNED BYU-N-L-V --AND PRESENTS SOMEINTERESTING OPPORTUNITIES FOR APARTNERSHIP."Well I think always partneringwith a you know, such anesteemed institution of higherlearning like you NLB that couldbe really positive, it couldprovide community benefits wellbeyond baseball.

So I thinkthat’s something that’s reallyintriguing.

For us, it’s also,you know, proximate to theresort corridor but still givesyou a little bit of space to getlocals in and out.

But I thinkthere are maybe some concernsthat it is, it’s too close tothe airport, because I knowthere was some letters andconcerned about that when theRaiders we’re gonna actually gothere."KAVAL SAYS HE GOT A GREAT TOUROF DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS FROMCASINO-OWNER DEREK STEVENS --BUTCAN’T YET PINPOINT WHERE THEY’DBUILD A NEW BALLPARK."Well I think finding the spaceis the hardest challenge there,because things are just tighteryou know like all the differentparcels and stuff aren’t quiteas big, but by the same token,you know, I think for youngermillennials and, you know, Gen Zand people of that persuasion,that’s important for the futurebaseball."AND KAVAL SAYS THEY’RE NOTRULING OUT BUILDING A NEWSTADIUM EVEN FURTHER FROM THESTRIP --SOMEWHERE IN HENDERSONOR SUMMERLIN."that might be better forlocals, you know, we have to domore market research to find outif that’s truly in factaccurate.
