A family grieving tonight after learning about the death of a missing san benito woman.
Her body found....in the same area-- search teams spent the past week in.
Channel 5's....sierra pizarro has the latest....on the continuing investigation.
The san benito police chief has ruled out foul play.
We also spent time with marta moreno's family.
They tell us the toughest part for everybody is she was found in the same area where a drone...helicopter... and over a hundred people spent time looking for her.
The location where marta moreno's body was found -- officially released today by the chief of police.
You come in here thinking it's going to be easy to read this thing.
When you're there with the family it's very tough.
Their worries became reality yesterday when moreno was found lying in this field -- next to her car off ratliff street in san benito.
We're told the 60- year-old left home last wednesday to run errands .
She had a daily routine that she never deviated from.
And never came back.
For whatever reason, this day was different.
We don't know we don't know why she deviated from her normal activities.
It's an emotional wreck, at this point.
You never think something like this is going to happen to you.
Moreno's niece -- cristina tells us the family last heard from their loved one the day she went missing -- through a panicked call saying she didn't know where she was and couldn't open the car door.
Police tracked the cell signal through a tower in the area...but couldn't nail an exact location..
Until yesterday afternoon -- with help from a pilot of a crop duster plane.
Moreno and her car were in waist high brush...under a canopy of trees...over 400 hundred feet from the main road -- the same area search teams spent the past week in.
A lot of the people, including myself, were very close...and that makes it very difficult for us.
We were on that street searching, but she was actually more further in than what we searched.
Why didn't we see her?
We were, maybe, 15...20 feet from where she actually was.
The family says moreno was a former elementary school teacher who suffered from alzheimer's.
She hopes their experience makes other families keep a closer watch on loved ones suffering from the same disease.
Police now wait on autopsy results -- to figure out moreno's cause of death...and investigate how her car went so deep in the brush.
