Wednesday was going to be the third and final day of New Hartford's downsized graduation ceremonies, but it was put on hold Tuesday night.
To the stanley...... walk across the stage in their caps and gowns with their diplomas...... so family members can take pictures.
But that's been put on hold.
This was to be done over three days.
Today was to be the third day.
Principal mark benson says the change had something to do with the stanley being unable to host events during phase 2 of the region's reopening.
Parents have told us that graduation will take place, but at the school, from noon to five today.
We've reached out to the principal to see if that is, indeed, the case, and have not heard back.
From oneida county executive anthony picente...quote... "under the governor's executive order, schools are closed and venues such as the stanley are not to be open under any circumstance.
There are also currently no guidelines from the state on how school districts should conduct their graduations.
During my discussions with our local school districts, both of those points were made abundantly clear, but unfortunately, the new hartford central school district chose not to be a part of those discussions."
