((nat)) let freedom ring, let freedom ring ((broll)) hundreds of people turning out to saturday's "redding march for justice"---- for some like stephanie richardson this protest was an outlet to get her message out there.

Sot(stephanie richardson, lives in redding): personally it's been such a time for me of grieving and so it was important to be in community and to feel the power of community.

That community power, evident.

People marching in solidarity, honor the lives of those who've been lost----and calling for change---- sot (event speaker): to see an end to police brutality and racism in all sectors of society.

Sot (nicolette did not want to give me her last name): the fact that redding is having all these protests i feel like it shows, yes it's affecting everyone.

My staff and i will work tirelessly to to develop, improve and update policies that can prevent these types of atrocities from happening in our cities.
