The New York Mills Union Free School District said what the district would do if a case of COVID-19 is discovered with a student or staff member.

Discuss their reopening plans.

People who listened in were able to ask questions in an online chat room.

Topics brought up included how visitors coming to the schools will be handled, how meetings will be done during the school year, and what happens if a student of staff member tests positive for covid-19, if that's the case the school would notify the oneida county health department, who would then conduct contact tracing.

But it will require all of us to make sure that we are checking symptoms, and being a little bit more hypervigilant to make sure that all of our students and staff are safe."

In the event of a possible shutdown....the school is trying to order enough chromebooks so they could immediately switch to remote learning, the students would have their own device, and not have to worry about sharing devices with other students or parents.
