That blue and silver jersey is not given... it's earned..

I went to cc on earn the jersey day... to talk to the knights about riding into an uncertain year... brian nay: we're focused on today...and these seniors especially understand like it can be taken from them at any minute...and the'yre just trying to suck the life out of this practice here today.

Jd: 2019 1a state champion central catholic is gearing up for a year under different circumstances head coach brian nay says a a younger cc team, lead by junior quarterback clark barret, has a lot to prove... brian nay: we feel really good about our talent...but when those lights come on on friday night...they're pretty bright.

So we're anxious to see how our young guys handle friday nights.

So we're trying to put a lot of pressure on them right now...to make friday night a little bit easier.

Clark barrett: i was always texting coach nay at least once, twice a week, asking him when we can get out here.

And when we finally got the all- clear...it was just awesome.

I was so excited.

It's been great to be out here playing..

Nat: all in on three...one, two, three, all in!

Jd all in on a year of uncertain schedules and uncertain conditions amid the pandemic.

Senior lineman sam seaburg has been giving younger players these words of advice, as they begin their time with the knights.

Sam seaburg: you just gotta play every game like its your last.

Like, you don't know how many opportunities you're gonna have to play the best game on the face of the earth.

If you're having fun and you're playing with your brothers...the world is yours you can go get whatever you want..

Jd: what they'll need is a way to keep their foot on the gas..the knights finished 12-3 last year after 2 down years...barrett says that success attracts a lot of attention..

Clark barrett: we're a successfull program so that's always something we talk about or think about in the back of our heads, is that we do do have a target on our back...but we use that as motivation to get back to where we belong and stay on top.

Nat: one, two, three football!!

Guys you might have seen the amdg on the back of cc's jerseys... that's latin, stands for ad majorem dei gloriam..

Translated for the greater glory of god... always knew that year of latin in high school would pay off..

Back to you... jd, thank you very much.
