A trail of smoke lined the sky above Aci Sant'Antonio, Sicily, as Mount Etna continued to erupt.

Footage from March 12 shows clouds of ash spewing from the volcano that has erupted several times over the past week.

The filmer said: "This morning I woke up hearing thunder, but I thought it was quite unlikely as it’s a nice, sunny day.

Turns out those noises came from Mount Etna."
